Our approach

Giving a competitive advantage to bio-based solutions

Our approach is based on a simple idea: every resource, whether it comes from fields, forests, or co-products, carries a potential to be revealed rather than wasted.

In agrifood as in eco-extraction, biotechnologies, circular materials, or environmental solutions, we seek to extend the cycle of life, to transform without exhausting, and to create without denaturing.

We cultivate an approach where science joins with nature, where innovation follows the rhythm of the living world, and where materials reinvent themselves in a continuous loop of value and meaning.

Our conviction: by drawing inspiration from nature, we can build fairer, more circular, and more sustainable models for our businesses and our territories.

Our commitment does not stop there...

Every day, we transform renewable resources into sustainable, market-ready solutions by accelerating the emergence of bio-based technologies and securing their development through our validation and prototyping capabilities. Our approach systematically integrates circularity, eco-design, and technological and regulatory support to facilitate the adoption of bio-sourced solutions.

Our values

Our values bring us together and guide each of our actions

Customer satisfaction, innovation, progress, and harmony: four commitments that guide our actions, strengthen our expertise, and build lasting relationships in the service of high-performance solutions.
These values are expressed in the attitudes and behaviors we cultivate daily: proximity and reliability to satisfy our customers, curiosity and enthusiasm to accelerate innovation, proactivity and commitment to nurture progress, and kindness and team spirit to ensure harmonious relationships.

Collaborations

We are members of...

Wagralim

As a leading research center in the agrifood sector, being a member of Wagralim and sitting on its Board of Directors strengthens the direct and structured link we seek with agrifood industry professionals.
Wagralim helps anchor our service offering as close as possible to field needs, while Celabor provides integrated expertise covering, for example, formulation, characterization, advanced processes, extraction, biotechnologies, and packaging.
This reciprocal relationship fosters relevant collaborative projects that are innovation-oriented and quickly transferable to concrete industrial applications.
Boosting innovation and collaboration within the food system, a pillar of the bioeconomy, and connecting the ecosystem to European networks are shared missions where Wagralim and Celabor each contribute their expertise.

Wal-Tech

Our active participation in Wal-Tech reflects a clear desire to strengthen synergies between research centers and increase our impact on the Region.
Our ongoing exchanges allow for a detailed understanding of the complementary expertise available, facilitating the setup of targeted and effective scientific collaborations or redirection to the most appropriate centers.
For our industrial partners, this translates into projects that are faster to structure, mobilizing the right skills from the start and accelerating the transition from research to concrete innovation.

Plastiwin

CELABOR & Plastiwin: Sustainable innovation in synergy
As an active member of the Plastiwin cluster, CELABOR collaborates at the heart of the Walloon ecosystem to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

CEPI-CTS

The organization of regular inter-laboratory tests allows for the verification of the reliability of analytical results. CELABOR is the manager for Belgium of the Comparative Testing-Service (CEPI-CTS) of the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI). The materials department participates in CEPI-CTS as a coordinating, qualified, and distributing laboratory, in collaboration with the main European paper laboratories.

Water Reuse Europe (WRE)

Developing and participating in the implementation of technical solutions for water reuse is one of the preferred options for Celabor for sustainable and resilient water management.
Water Reuse Europe (WRE) is a non-profit association that supports, assists, and represents its members in this field.
Founded in 2016, it brings together commercial and public organizations from across Europe operating in the water reuse sector. Celabor supports WRE's goal of forming a single, unifying body through which best practices can be shared and a single voice can speak on important issues.

Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC)

As a Full Industry Member of BIC, Celabor maintains a strategic relationship with the main European public-private partnership dedicated to the development of bio-based sectors. Our active participation in CBE JU projects, working groups, and consortium activities strengthens our role as a committed player in the European bioeconomy.
BIC plays an essential role by guiding sector priorities, facilitating investments, and connecting companies, research centers, and regions around bio-based value chains. This dynamic fully supports our ambition to contribute to a more sustainable, competitive, and circular economy.
Celabor brings integrated technological expertise to the consortium covering eco-extraction and downstream processing, scaling-up, biotechnologies, bio-based materials, and innovative processes. Our involvement in CBE JU projects is a key lever for testing, validating, and deploying solutions with high industrial value.
Together, BIC and Celabor foster the emergence of new bio-based value chains, strengthen synergies at the European level, and contribute to accelerating the transition to a high-performance circular bioeconomy.

VALBIOM

Our collaboration with Valbiom, the Walloon Reference Center for the bioeconomy, strengthens our common commitment to developing bio-based and circular sectors in Wallonia.
Valbiom structures these sectors and connects research, industry, and public decision-makers, while Celabor provides its technological capabilities in eco-extraction, biotechnologies, analysis, and bio-based materials.
This complementarity fosters the emergence of concrete collaborative projects and accelerates the transition to competitive bio-based value chains at the regional and European levels.

BIOECONOMY FOR CHANGE

Bioeconomy For Change accelerates the transition to a circular bioeconomy, creating value for industry, territories, and society. The role of B4C is to sustainably valorize biomass into innovative and competitive solutions, serving more resilient sectors. Participation in this cluster is fully integrated into Celabor's development logic.
